2014 spring and summer Staples…
OMG! SPRING…SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!!! YAY! Ok now what do I wear?! What do I do?!
My favorite thing to do in the summer is get up early…go to the lake and do some physical activity (piece of mind: going where earth, sky and water meet. It creates an equilibrium for your thoughts and activity heightens it.) Sprint, jog, walk, bike…or roller blade. Go home, shower put on my awesome outfit for the day and hit the town for some fun day stuff. Going to stylemaxx helped me envision what Chicago-fashionistas will be sporting this season.
Tons of Maxi: dresses all different styles and patterns.
Attention all shorty’s: We can wear maxi dresses! Strapless is better for us and please tailor if needed. Straps or not…wear your hair up it makes you look taller. Jersey material allows you to simply cut (cut straight please) the bottom to suit you. Don’t wear shoes that go up further than your toe cleavage or stick to flip flops, this elongates your legs. On a Spring day add a short jacket with statement scarf.
Crops tops…so hot! I usually pair with high waist pants or skirts…so you don’t expose too much skin.
This new trend is awesome for transition from gym to fun (only works with cotton or polyester). When I am in a hurry after a work out….I make sure I smell ok:) and bring some ballet flats, jewelry, light make-up, dry shampoo…and boom a new outfit!
Sheer and Sexy: Sheer tops or sheer details…sha-wing! Just a little bit adds a sexy-dress up touch, to even a pair of jeans and cute shoes.
Exaggerated silhouettes: find your funk. Dresses, pants, tops, skirts and shorts…the cuts are unique.
Find a fun weird piece for your wardrobe, don’t get too crazy. This is a TREND you don’t want to invest too much in.
Embellished details, fringe and patterns…complement simple pieces. As if exaggerated silhouettes weren’t fun enough…let’s get weirder.
On the top of patterns this season…tribal patterns take the lead, on different silhouettes too?!?! NICEEE!
Pretty details add bedazzle to your look without heavy jewelry.
Colors of the season: Orange, cobalt blue and yellow-gold (metallics).
