High end designers with bad customer service = no money from me.
I recently went to a local designer’s event party. He was an amazing designer with an assistant who also designed and managed his boutique. As soon as I walked in he immediately wanted to start dressing me. I will admit I looked like a spent $$$$ on my clothes but I didn’t (strategy). He approached me as if he was going to make tons of money off me. When he realized I was there to support and maybe not spend money…he was disinterested. I will save and spend money on my local artists…but I’d love a connection even a conversation, with the local artists I’m about to drop some loot for!
In the industries I work, both fashion and fitness, it is referral based, whether intentionally or unintentionally. I’d be damned if someone rushed a product or service on me with-out a conversation even as a business..fashion…suppporting another business, and the assistant too?! Then when you do it’s all of a sudden this condescending tone.
I am not going to go into the deeets, but lets just say…the fact that you’ve been there for 14yrs and not one of your clients supported you on this event or campaign is LOUD!!!!!! I was there to support and most importantly support the fundraiser! Even though your store had no one in it!
People, as much as I promote local artists and local boutiques, if they’re assholes… f**k it. I represent the 70% of your “clients.” I fall into a lot of categories, and I know what I like! What I don’t like is pretentiously rude people…please.
Come to our event…you’ll see the difference. I too am someone who runs my own business or sure…I just started. We can sit and trade stories if you’d like, just catch your head from floating away.
