Patterns are my favorite. They are so fun, wanting to pair some together sounds even more fun, but let’s not get too crazy. We aren’t runway models (I often tell myself when I’m getting creatively risky with my outfits)….they make anything look good.
To the real life fashionistas/fashionistos…
Everyone has their own opinion on this. In my opinion, let’s stick to 2 patterns, 3 might be overkill and make sure they are color wheel matches. Let’s develop a theme and stick to the color wheel.
You can use color wheel matches, or find a common color in both patterns to pull them together.
1. Colors directly next to each other (i.e. yellow and yellow-orange; yellow and yellow-green; violet and blue-violet, etc.)
2. Colors that form right (90 degree) angles with each other (i.e. yellow and red-orange; blue and violet-red; green and orange, etc.)
3. Colors directly across from each other (i.e. yellow and violet; blue and orange; red and green, etc.)
4. Colors that form a T (i.e. blue, orange, and violet-red; yellow, violet, and red-orange; yellow, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)
5. Colors that form an X (i.e. blue, orange, violet-red, and yellow, violet, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)

Then you can add a solid-statement piece. (belt, jacket, sweater, or hat) to add a calm aesthetic.
You don’t want to look too busy. Try to avoid wearing 2 busy pieces, this can be tricky. Start with mixing small prints. Stripes and poka-dots are always a safe mix. Then floral prints can be easily mixed and matched as well.
“Let’s hear it for the boys!’ Men you don’t have many choices in clothing, so please do mix patterns!
Loving this paisley print mixed with strips and plaid! Yumm-y!
Patterns, colors and prints oh my! Hoped this helped:P
